Villa Tugendhat

One of the pioneering prototypes of modern architecture in Europe was designed by the German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Built of reinforced concrete between 1928-1930 for Fritz Tugendhat and his wife Greta, the villa soon became an icon of modernism.

An old castle on the hilltop in Brno, that began to be built as early as the first half of the 13th century. From a major royal castle established around the mid-13th century it was gradually turned into a huge baroque fortress considered the heaviest prison in the Austro-Hungarian empire.

Brno Trade Fairs

Established in 1928, the Brno Exhibition Centre is recognized as the exhibition hub in Central Europe, and therefore is also called the Central European Exhibition Centre. The recent exhibition and convention center features a mixture of modern, newly built halls with exhibition halls built in the functionalist style architecture of the 1920s.
